Craps Strategy
Craps is a game which favors the house / casino over the long term, therefore you might wish to use certain betting strategies which may increase your chances of beating the casino over the short term. Below are several betting options which take the house edge into consideration and can give you the best chance at winning.
Passline bet - this is the basic bet in craps and should always be made during the shooters come-out roll. When making this bet if the shooter rolls a 7 or an 11 you will win. If the shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12 then you will lose.
Odds bet - this is a bet after the shooter has established the point. This bet gives you double odds or better and is one of the best bets you can make in the game of craps. Point odds for betting 6 or 8 are 6:5, betting 5 or 9 is 3:2 and betting 4 or 10 you'll get odds of 2:1.
Come bet - this is a bet similar to the passline bet. You are able to place this bet when the shooter is trying to repeat his established point. As with the passline bet if the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 you win. If a 2,3, or 12 is rolled you lose. If the shooter rolls the point number, your bet will be moved to the number box giving you additional bets working for you during the round.
In addition to these basic betting strategies you will often hear about craps systems such as the martingale, or the positive progressive system for example which claim to increase your ability to the casinos. Frankly, if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is - as we already know over the long term, the house has the edge!
