A 51-year-old Dundee man will have a very happy New Year after scooping over £101,000 playing bingo at the Mecca Playhouse, Nethergate.
The lucky winner, who has asked not to be named, is a sheet metal worker and has one daughter and a grand-daughter.
Lady Luck struck on Christmas Eve, when he was at the Mecca with his partner.
The man, who says he has been a bingo player for “years and years”, plays every Friday and Saturday.
“I won the regional prize on the national game a few years ago, and got £5000,” he said. “That was my previous big win.
“It was strange, because I had a feeling I was going to get the national prize. I still can’t believe I have, though, and I’m staying calm until I get the cheque. Then I might get excited!”
The lucky winner said the first thing he would do with the money was buy the council house in which they live.
“And then my partner has a few ideas about what we will do with the rest!” he added. |
