"Members of the Florida Branch of the International Union of Police Associations said they see no evidence of increased crime as a result of Indian gaming that already exists in South Florida and don't believe crime will rise if slots go into horse and dog tracks and jai-alai frontons. "The proposed amendment would allow for local referendums in Broward and Miami-Dade counties on whether enhanced gaming can be offered at seven existing pari-mutuel venues but requires that tax dollars raised off the slot machines be funneled into enhancements for public schools across the state..."
