I know that the mass majority of people will say I am a responsible gambler. Is there such a thing? I have seen lots of people chase losses. Here is my own personal story. In Dec 2005 I was diagnosed with two types of cancer. Stressed out about finances and health issues I thought I need some quick cash. So I tried poker online. I found myself consumed with it. I couldn't stop playing and I was letting it rule my life! I got on some depression medication and started to get a hold of my life. I did some research on internet gambling and I called my credit card companies. To my surprise both Mastercard and Visa were very helpful. They charged back all the gambling charges including the ones to third party sites such as Netellar and Click2pay and others.

The stance that I took is that MC and Visa do not allow internet gambling and that these places coded the transactions as goods and services not internet gambling. The credit card companies agreed that what happened was wrong and had the transactions been coded for gambling they would of been denied. I do not agree with gambling on credit or the fact that there are companies that extend you more than what you have in your account. I know that I am going to get lots of feed back on this topic and no matter what nobody is going to change my mind.

All of these sites and companies are laughing at all of us all the way to the bank. They openly taught being out of the reach of the law. Well the same goes the other way. I have asked that they mail me account info they wont do it. Ask them for email they wont do that ether. Why they don't want proof of the transactions out there. I encourage everybody who is in debt from online gambling to fight it! Don't pay until you research your options, By making a couple of phone calls it saved me several thousand dollars.

WIKI:

Responsibility means the obligation to answer for one's actions. Often this means answering to authority. Responsibility is also loosely used as the recognition that in order to achieve one's purposes, one must act oneself ("take responsibility") rather than expecting others to do something (compare initiative).

Accountability is a concept in ethics with several meanings. It is often used synonymously with such concepts as answerability, responsibility, blameworthiness, liability and other terms associated with the expectation of account-giving.

Wiki,

I am a car salesman, if that doesn't sayit all. There should be checks and balances in the system to address problem gamblers and there is not! Yes people can set thier own limits but that is like putting an alcholic in a bar and telling him to moderate his drinking. I responded to am email from a poker site. They said "you are right in the fact that we don't care where people get the money from" If you are going to tell me that these places really care about people than I guess the crack dealer cares about the addicts health.

The only reason that sites like this exist is to get a portion of the money by advertising casinos. I am all for blocking gambling with credit on the internet. MC and Visa will not approve credit transactions at casinos. They also wont approve transactions coded as gambling. So it is ok for companies like Neteller and others to code it as goods and services? It's ok to skirt the credit card system that openly states that you can't use the card for online gambling? I have not said that I wouldn't pay, I asked my credit card company to charge back merchants and let them collect from me. Funny thing is that none of them have contacted me at all! And I can't get any of them to put the debt in writing or to admit what the debt is for!

Like I said at the beginning of this I am in car sales, have been for a long time. There is nothing you can say to hurt me. Nice definitions though did you get up the webster for that! And for the question how do I sleep at night? VERY WELL THANK YOU!!!

To each his/her own ... it's good to be able to choose what you want to do and not told what you have to. Freedom of choice and freedom to speak your mind.
