Roulette Strategy

A roulette player wont have to look hard to discover a slew of betting systems offering big promises. There a literally hundreds of these strategic systems being offered online - some are cheap others are quite expensive. Before you start spending all your money on a unproven system I would like to emphasize the cliché if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

For hundreds of years since the first game of roulette showed up in Europe individuals have claimed to have discovered a system for beating roulette. These systems are continuously reinvented and refined to make it seem as if it were a new system. They have exotic names like Fibonacci, Martingale, D'Alembert and Labouchere.

They all involve increasing your bets as you lose-primarily on the even money wagers like red or black. They are all IMHO (in my humble opinion) a waste of time and energy! They just can not predict the randomness nor the primary characteristic involved in gambling - luck.

In the Martingale system you are instructed to double your wager after each loss until you finally win. When you do win, you'll only be one unit ahead. When it comes to D'Alembert, you are instructed to continuously increase one unit of wager each time you lose and reduce your wager a unit whenever you win. Whatever the system, the rudimentary flaw is that you must risk large sums of your bankroll to win one single unit.

I would propose that you use some KISS strategy - keep it simple stupid. Look for a single zero wheel this will decrease the house advantage by half compared to a zero and double zero wheel. This is something that doesn't take much smarts to do and it surely doesn't rely on an unproven system.

Look for games that offer favorable player options like the 'La Partage' rule or the “En Prison” rule. If you can find a game that offers the former rule the house edge will be reduced to 1.35%. This option is offered on a European wheel and whenever the ball lands on 0 players lose only half of their wager on outside bets. You will however still be allowed to win the full amount if those numbers shall hit.

The En Prison rule is similar in that it reduces the house edge to 1.35% also. In this variant of the game when the ball lands on zero your bet will not be lost it will merely remain in place for the next spin.

Understanding what game to look for and which rules dictate are essential to any successful strategy. Another key component and quite frankly the most important is money management. You should always set limits both for losing and winning goals. The rule of thumbs is to only bet what you can afford to lose. Once you have lost your set limit you should always walk! Likewise if you obtain your goal of winning a certain amount you should walk as well leaving a winner!

The best roulette strategies are those that are utilize common sense. Keep in mind there really isn't a guaranteed way to beat roulette due to its randomness, there's no sense in trying. Mathematics won't do you much good in this situation - all you can do is to calculate the probability of a potential outcome. If one could predict mathematically the outcomes it wouldn't be considered gambling and it wouldn't be as fun.
